Abstract
We have reached the final edition of the Brazilian Journal of Criminalistics (RBC) for 2023. Throughout this year, it has been a pleasure to share so many important articles contributing to Brazilian Criminalistics. RBC has been following a path of growth that makes us very proud, and therefore we would like to express our sincere gratitude to all researchers who entrusted their work to our editorial board, to the reviewers, and, of course, to our valued readers. Our deepest thanks to all of you.
To conclude this year, RBC presents a highly diverse issue containing a total of 23 articles. One of the interesting aspects of this edition, beyond the versatility of discussions, is its intersections with topics being discussed internationally. In November of this year, the 23rd Triennial Meeting of the International Association of Forensic Sciences (IAFS) took place in Australia, and the themes presented by RBC, both in this edition and in previous ones, are aligned with the main research trends in the forensic field worldwide. This alignment demonstrates the relevance of Brazilian research and highlights how closely it follows global trends in forensic science.
