The Brazilian Journal of Criminalistics begins the year by thanking all authors, collaborators, and readers for their participation and contribution to the journal. In 2024, the goal is to bring even more specialized knowledge, contributing in an interdisciplinary and cross-cutting manner to the various fields connected to Forensic Science. Riding the wave of “more science for forensic science” and seeking to contribute meaningfully to the Brazilian scientific landscape, this is the commitment reinforced by the RBC for 2024: ensuring the quality and scientific rigor of all published articles. Therefore, in the very first issue of this year, we present articles from nine different subfields, all of which demonstrate methodological precision and rigor in the description of results.
