Forensic Sciences: Scientific Applications in Criminalistics.

Abstract

This book, edited by Samara Testoni, Claudio Pereira, and Rafael Ortiz, provides an approach to several areas of great importance in forensic sciences. It uses examples from the fields of forensic geosciences, drug investigation, works of art, environmental crimes, and others. This publication illustrates how excellent strategic science applied across multiple scientific disciplines can contribute both to criminal investigations and to the use of evidence in court, making criminal justice systems more reliable and effective, regardless of the legal jurisdiction or region of the world in which we live.

The work presents a broad and diversified discussion based on applications of analytical techniques, case studies, and literature reviews, providing readers with an integrated approach. It is expected that this book will serve as valuable reading for criminalistics professionals, as well as researchers, professors, students, and other interested readers in general.
