Estimativa da velocidade em colisões a partir da rotação do motor em casos de “congelamento” do ponteiro do velocímetro

Abstract

Traffic accident expertise quest for the reconstruction of an event dynamics. In this way, the present work introduces a new approach in “frozen speedometer” analysis, enlarging the perspective of knowledge and evidence reading by the expert. Engine rotation is a valuable parameter, because it allows to face the velocity during the collision with the one presented by the vehicle speedometer. A case report is depicted to the reader, in a practical way, as a guide to correlate the event cinematic variables, granting him to calculate the traffic units’ velocity, contributing for the recreation of extreme complex dynamics.
