Abstract
We began 2023 on the right foot, as the Brazilian Journal of Criminalistics (RBC) has just been classified in the B1 stratum by the QUALIS (NEW) system of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) of the Ministry of Education. This great achievement was only possible through the commitment and dedication of the authors, reviewers, and editors, to whom we are immensely grateful for materializing ideas, concepts, theories, research, and results in the numerous articles published since 2011. In this sense, the RBC has fulfilled, for more than a decade, its role in fostering the development and dissemination of forensic sciences in the country.
Furthermore, the RBC reached an h-index of 11 in Google Scholar, with 450 citations (Single Figure), two levels higher than the last edition of the RBC published in September of last year. Over the past three years, articles published in the RBC have obtained 80 citations or more, demonstrating the dissemination of forensic knowledge, a sine qua non condition of editorial activity.
