Abstract
The right to life is inviolable and has law protection, so crime scene analyst work is essential for criminal prosecution and justice. The information acquired in the crime scenes analysis must be included in the expert report, which shall be clear and objective regarding the crime scene procedures performed. As it is based on the scientific method, the standardization of crime scenes processing is fundamental to Forensic Science, which must act in a uniform way throughout the national territory. This study analyzed official crime scene reports of different Federative Units of Brazil in homicide committed with a firearm. Information related to the crime scene processing was evaluated through questions prepared by the authors, based on specialized literature and on the Standard Operating Procedure of Forensic Investigation published by the Ministry of Justice of Brazil in 2013, with the aim of verifying how the crime scenes analysis has been performed in the different regions of the country. The data were analyzed qualitatively through the answers obtained to the proposed questions.
