Abstract
This article addresses the implementation of the quality management system (QMS), from 2018 to 2022, which took place at the Forensic Genetics Laboratory of the Scientific Police of Amapá (LGF/PCA). Since 2010, the LGF/PCA participates in the sharing of genetic profiles with other forensic DNA laboratories in Brazil, through the database of criminal and identification genetic profiles, using the CODIS software, however the Integrated Network of Genetic Profiles (RIBPG) instituted specific resolutions, with Resolution nº 12-CG/RIBPG, of August 1, 2019 being the current one, which establishes minimum criteria for an LGF in Brazil to be able to share genetic profiles from the National Bank of Genetic Profiles (BNPG). And using a descriptive and exploratory methodology with a qualitative approach through bibliographic research, documents and direct observations, the authors describe how the development and the results observed before and after the implementation of the QMS were, having as a parameter of analysis the external and internal audits by which the LGF/PCA was submitted, highlighting the experiences and challenges faced, and so that it can help advance knowledge for other laboratories that are starting the quality journey.
