Abstract
The toxicology laboratory of São José dos Campos Criminalistics Center receives drug seizures from Vale do Paraiba region to identify the presence of substances prohibited in Brazil, according to SVS/MS Ordinance 344/88 and subsequent updates. To achieve this, various analytical techniques are employed, with gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) being a standout. Analyzing synthetic drug seizures by law enforcement agencies will not only allow for a better understanding of the drug trafficking dynamics in the region but also provide the basis for formulating more effective public policies to combat this issue. Additionally, this research aims to contribute to the scientific literature on the subject by providing up-to-date and relevant data on the presence of synthetic drugs in a specific region of Brazil.
