Abstract
This article aims to initiate a discussion about the research instruments to which technical assistants do not have access. In many cases of criminal justice, some expertise can only be carried out using high-end equipment, which nowadays are on the market with a value above R$30,000, and a technical assistant at the beginning of his career is often unable to acquire it. Noting this limitation, why not build alternative and cheaper instruments? I see it as a good opportunity for entrepreneurship, and of great value for technical assistants, as they will have equipment as good as official expertise. This article will show us only one documentoscopy equipment. For this, research of works and articles was carried out so that the reader is aware that there is this concern in our country and that there are already professionals working in this same segment. For there to be a solution, information from the manufacturer was exposed, how it works, what it is for, what are the physical theories involved, and finally, a price survey. In this article it is visible that it can be reproduced in Brazil so that technical assistants can take advantage of this product, improving the quality of expertise in Brazil.
